@mdebusk Thank you; I'll give this a try.
@Denius
@TheFu Thanks, that's a big help.
I dual boot my home PC with Ubuntu and XP. I hate to cause a gasp across the lifehacker realm, but I don't have internet access at home, only at work. When I want to install a new piece of software on my PC I download it to a thumb drive at work and then install it via the drive. This works for XP, but I have not…
I have been interested in the quibids auction website for some time but have heard mixed reviews. Any lifehackers with experience in this site? I am interested in using it to buy technology, but so many view this site as a scam. I would be interested in hearing about your experience with the site.
@CamJN Happy birthday CamJN! Enjoy playing with that new iPhone.
@UnMicD I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the help!
Happy Friday! It is cold, wet and dreary in NW Pennsylvania. Hope you guys have nicer weather!
I have found that adding fresh kitty litter to the ash tray also removes all sorts of odors. The key word is "fresh."
Take one of the trolley rides through town. Open air coaches, they pass through some beautiful, old parts of the city.
You might try something with a full spectrum bulb. This gives the same light as sunshine.
I posted this back in August. I stumbled across a great site that helps you decide which prepaid service is right for you. "Prepaid Reviews" lists a whole bunch of carriers and evaluates the prepaid service and prices that they offer. This includes all the major providers as well as ones that you may not have heard…
@xenocyclus I had a terrible time with a Saab 9-5 that I bought used after one owner, 3 years of use. My mother bought a new one, 2002 model year, and has had many expensive repairs around the 60k mile mark. Lots of electronics issues, stalling, etc. I would really suggest you go with another label.
@Zuzax
I have had great success with one of those sonic mouse repellents. You plug it into the wall and it emits a high pitched sound that keeps them away. I had one in every room back when I lived in the country, and I never had any sightings of mice or droppings.
I put this in tips and in the main open thread, but I didn't show up here yet. If it does, pardon the double post!
Wall Street Journal and Reuters have great feeds; on the Outlook reader they show snippets of each article. Each news org has multiple feeds for US news, World, business, etc.
Oh, its that time of Friday when I am seriously tempted to start goofing off at work. So...what's your favorite solitaire game folks?
