I can 100% confirm this as the former owner of one. That 727 needs as big of a cooler as you can muster.

It’s a band bus in rural Maryland. Weed at best.

You could also exclusively refer to is as your “Chevy Longroof.”

Yup. Crabs. It’s Maryland, after all.

Nobody that has the mobility to use either Item 1) or 2) is the market for this car.

Development of the W220 that carried the first fiber optic system began in 1992. 1998 was the first year it was in a production car. It was definitely cutting edge at the time.

Same reason that they used pneumatic door lock actuators. The thing is that with Benz (in my case, the S Class) is that in their high end vehicles, EVERYTHING is cutting edge. It trickles down to other lines, etc, but if it’s new and stupid expensive or complicated, it goes in the S Class first.

The sweet spot on a Benz is the 5 year mark. It’s past any fixes from the factory, already massively depreciated, and it’s still got another 3 or 4 years before something that will make you want to sell it comes up.

Well, and unless you have the access to a STAR system, you can’t troubleshoot it effectively, either. Once someone hacks that bastard up, It’s ridiculous to get it back in place as it should be. I never did get the bluetooth up and running properly because some jackwad bypassed all of the old cell boxes - and took

Hey - just be glad it’s not the Benz D2B/MOST fiber optic network. Just the part to bypass anything (and have anything in the circuit function) is still $150.

I learned the CAN bus the hard way. From a 2011 Grand Cherokee that was one of the first ones off the line IIRC in April 2010. A few years down the road, and whenever it would sit in the sun on an 85+ degree day, it would have absolute electronic spasms. Alarm would go bananas, it wouldn’t start, randomly shut off,

Still incorrect. If I weren’t an accomplished crossstitcher and jeweler, I’d continue to listen to your “every man is sexist” rantings about all the burly shit I do with my free time. Men don’t have to actually be women to not be sexist.

Lady, you have some real issues that can’t be resolved by yelling at people on the internet.

She had a lump that was benign that she “hoped to have removed”. She’s now on her third college in a third state in 3 years. Poeple don’t go from GA to PA to TX for college for no reason. There’s a whole bunch of details that someone didn’t dig into and/or spun in a certain direction to support the story and

When I was 21, here was no GPS or cell phones. We could drive 2000 miles into Mexico and back with cash, 3 CDs, a Rand McNally road atlas, and just a small shred of self reliance. And this kid can’t figure out what to do with Stuart Little in an airport.

I think it’s just that it was Alan Alda. As long as it wasn’t Sherman T. Potter...

Genius. Maybe that’s what the peacock was for.

Nope. Still wrong. Want to go for a third try?

This is unbelievable. Actual facts and reason in the comments. I’m going to print it out and walk around with it as my comfort comment for a while.

Technically, it was the idea of shoving a peacock in a toilet and flushing it to its watery demise. Probably involving the assist from at the very minimum a toilet brush.
