You don’t read all the comments, do you? Glad you stopped by base camp long enough to use the internet.

Never. How about them apples? Do you feel less of a person for making the assumption? You should.
Call me scarred, but I keep translating FCA into the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Makes them seem insidious.
Except there’s no anodized strut tower braces for an Odyssey.
At some point, I do want to drive one just to see what they can do. They’ve got enough go that they’re truly a menace on a daily basis.
I stopped at Star, I think. Wasn’t because of religion, though. I learned to fake that growing up in the bible belt. Athletics took up too much time once I hit the 8th grade. That, and it’s the issue of the older scouts being able to tolerate the younger ones. Big difference between a 13-14 year old and a 10 year old…
At least now there’s a choice. However, the problematic part is that even in cub scouts, they will still be gender separated. The difference will be in the curriculum.
A much more eloquent response than I put together and a great summary of the issues. I’d very much hope that Kiki can take this back to her leadership. Optional badges don’t do anything for a troop that’s not inclined to work on them.
Except for the part where the name of that thing is a constant reminder that there was a group of people that would enslave you and a group of people that still sympathize with them and don’t consider you equally human. But that’s easy to let go of, right?
That escalated quickly. Remind me again how wanting my daughter to learn outdoor skills makes me a sexist jackwad? I have kids that are in both programs. In the troops that they’re both in, the cub scouts is the better program for outdoor skills. So much so that, unprompted from me, my daughter asked if she could…
This is exactly the point. The folks that run her troop are NOT outdoors people and have no interest in becoming them. If I’ve heard one “The only time I camp out is when I have to stay at the Holiday Inn” crack, I’ve heard a thousand out of that group.
I have no idea if they’ve thrown it out or not. Her troop isn’t interested in it. The simple fact of the matter is that I don’t need the GS to teach her outdoor anything. I can do that just fine on my own.
Nope. The Cub curriculum would ensure exactly the opposite.
If only that sort of thing was welcomed among the vest wearing, yoga pant, latte sipping suburbanite moms that run our troop. I make sure my daughter knows what she needs to know.
And Foghorn Leghorn, too.
MomKhana:
Don’t get me wrong. I did that with an AMG full of children.
Don’t get me started on an Odyssey minivan. They’re balls to the wall 24/7.
If I recall, he was commenting that the BRZ didn’t need more horsepower, because it wouldn’t make the car any more fun to drive. Specifically, I think he was relating it to his Ferrari at the time and commenting that even the HP in it was wasted.
I hate to say it, but DeMuro was right when talking about the BRZ. Anything over a certain amount is just for show and doesn’t do a lot for everyday ride.
