Oh, I agree their scripts are typically generic (with some notable exceptions). I just wish people would pay more attention to what Dreamworks is accomplishing visually when talking about the state of American animation in general.

Man, I honestly don't get the people who go into raptures about the samey animation in recent Disney pictures when Dreamworks is being so much more inventive. There's the brilliant incorporation of traditional art in the Kung-Fu Panda movies, the fact they had ROGER DEAKINS as a consultant on How to Train Your Dragon…
