The greatest contemporary love story between a man...

If Kamiyama is involved, I’m interested.

I thought what I’d do was, I’d pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes.

On TV, its prettified close-ups and rave lighting might even pass for proficient

“Lee’s directorial imprint consists of boring, teleconference-like shot compositions and a tin ear for music.”

That’s some proper brutality right there.

This book holds a VERY special place in my personal history, as it was the first novel I ever read. I had been slow to learn to read, due probably to a neurological condition which was undiagnosed until much later in life, and this book grabbed me by the brain and hurled it several paces forward - because of it, I was

i docent at the edward gorey house museum & worked with him on three theatrical productions - ted was awesome! come visit us on cape cod!

“The movie deals in half-liners rather than one-liners.”

We’ve lost a lot of the greats around here over the years. Rabin, Robinson, Murray, Koski, Tobias, Gillette. Hell, I’ll even throw VanDerWerff in there even though he infuriated me half the time. But no one’s absence will hurt quite like Sean’s.

AV CLUB

Sean, you were great here, and I’m sad to see you go. This site is no longer what it once was, and I’m proud of you for holding on as long as you did.

Love ya, buddy. You are too good for this world.

Just popping in here to also say goodbye and that while I’m excited for whatever you decide to do next, I will also miss your “For Our Consideration” pieces and the other critical writing you’ve done for the AV Club. I think all the focus readers put on your Newswire snark - and this is not to say those pieces weren’t

Well, hell.

I sincerely wish you the best of luck.  Your writing brought many smiles to my face.  Cheers.

So long, and thanks for all the snark.

But seriously, you will be so missed. An O’Neal piece always brightened my day, whether it was a hilarious attack on Justin Bieber or that heartbreaking obit for Chris Cornell.  Best wishes for a new path.

So long, Sean! Thanks for all the amazing work! I can't wait to see what you do next!
