I think the market question is a good one. Most enthusiasts know a two door short wheel base vehicle will be better off road, so we imagine a world where they will be plentiful. The truth is very few of us are willing pay out for a new vehicle and take it on serious off road trails. Sure the new Bronco and imaginary

You’d be surprised. I know someone who went from an Accord to a Gladiator, but I basically agree. The ‘regular’ Wrangler has essentially become the four door model. If GM made a two door Tahoe, it would probably lead to more sales of the four door Tahoe. Let’s face it, a 4x4 Tahoe will handle getting out of the grassy

Honestly, when I ride by the Jeep dealer and see 30+ Gladiators sitting there not selling while CUVs like the Blazer fly off of the lots, I can’t help but wonder if GM got this one right, from a business standpoint. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to see a world full off capable off road machines, especially during a

I’m pretty sure that is why they named it after the building where it was designated, so you would know where to go complain.

I remember seeing a documentary, or AMC type movie explainer, where they said in early Hollywood (silent and B&W) movies they could not afford to buy cars just to crash. To get around this, they would set up their cameras at an intersection or curve and grease down the road. Then they would just film the resulting

I don’t recall ever hearing anyone say then need a truck or SUV to carry a canoe. Generally, when I hear people refer to hauling a boat, they mean a pontoon, fishing boat or etc.

I’m just going to assume you live further away from the equator than Texas, Georgia or most of the South and don’t have leather seats. I’ve measured inside car temps at over 130 before. Leather or vinyl seats while wearing shorts is not fun at those temps.

What you said is pretty much true of any CEO, or billionaire for that matter. Basically, all their money is tied up in some investment or another. Why should we spare Musk and blame the others?

That bearing doesn’t look like it would be hard to find from a general parts catalogue (looks can be deceiving because sometimes OEMs would special order parts that are just enough out of tolerance that they can’t be replaced with off the shelf stuff).

I keep a chevy fob and a merc fob in the same pocket. It is always the merc that has trouble. The chevy is older with recessed buttons. Used to have a BMW that would roll down all of the windows when some combination of fob buttons were pressed while in my pocket.

I think the key is this seems to be happening shortly after the car comes to a stop. I think most cars don’t allow the trunk to open in motion, but I know trunks can be opened at a stop light. You are right, there is likely a software fix but just preventing it from opening while in motion may not be enough.

Well it is not like there are any bioethics questions at the forefront of people’s minds nowadays.

Yes to the car fob. I can’t tell you how many times I opened the trunk in my wife’s car because the fob hit something else in my pocket. If it was a frunk, it would be a lot of trouble.

Pretty much the same. If you took the bloated fenders down in the Corolla, it would be very much the same.

You do realize they were citing the 2011 and 2015 contract negotiations, right? Those were before the more recent plant closings and they didn’t go last in negotiating everytime.

And here I thought it was impossible to prove because the UAW burned down the building with all of their records in it.

I guess it depends on your definition of ‘more.’ I mean if you ignore the reason people buy trucks, more utility, more cargo space, more ground clearance and etc. Also, if you ignore the obvious but have to be mentioned factors, bigger, more powerful, more metal and etc.  Then I guess you are getting more, electronics?

I’m comparing ~$35,000 car to an ~35,000 (MSRP) truck. I don’t think most families are cross shopping a truck and an Impreza.

If there’s no need to tow or haul anything or go off-road, it doesn’t make sense to own a truck.

Where are you at that these fees are higher? We have lived in three different states with two different car/truck combos, and the insurance/registration/maintenance costs are always lower in the truck.
