I came here to comment this. Of course, each person has their own right to decide what happens in their vehicle, but this is beyond comprehendable. If you’re that worried about it go by rubber mats online for $60 and keep your friends.
I will in the UWS and daily park my Landie (reverse commute to NJ). It really isn’t too bad unless you know there is a big event nearby. I had to find temp housing for two weeks and chose Hoboken. Was not happy to find that they do resident parking as it forced me to look far away.
Need to include the SX final lap drama too...

Is that why Land Rover won best ALG residual value of all premium brands?
When Jaguar launched the F-TYPE in 2013 they were in the middle of the “Alive” campaign and wanted the car to seem alive, so they claim that to be in the inspiration behind the rising AC vent, deployable door handles, start/stop, active wing, etc...
If you’re looking for a stop gap vehicle perhaps the Honda Element could be a good option. It aligns with Tom’s reco of the Transit (big fan), but you could get a great entry price and not worry about any depreciation at an entry well below your budget.
Those are really vanity plates. Dealer Plates are license plates registered to a dealership (typically they say “DEALER” or on the bottom or something along those lines.)
Isn’t that called Skip Barber Racing School? You know the one that is definitely, most certainly owned by Skip Barber and not anyone else...
