To be fair, a lot of (luxury) manufacturers offer a lot of variety; however, with the US auto shopper habits, it is the dealerships job to order the color because US shoppers mostly choose off the lot and don’t custom order.
While Subaru thrives off their loyal customers, they still need new customers. Those new customers become much harder to attain when your product gets significantly more expensive overnight.
Another consideration is range will decrease significantly under heavy payload or towing. Speaking of towing, it is a HUGE shortfall in the EV Market. You can not easily tow and use a public charging space....

Isn’t it optional in the I-PACE? Maybe it is not for you, but at least they aren’t forcing it upon you.
