I disagree. All we’ve been hearing about for years are poor rural whites and their problems. Even before the election. The heroin epidemic is also being treated totally differently than crack — more like a public health issue than a law enforcement one.

Trump does! So great we *finally* have a leader willing to say ‘radical Islamic terrorism! Things can only improve from here on out, surely.

Such brave words. I bet if you lived in Saudi, you’d be walking around without a hijab, driving cars, kissing men you’re not married to. Please.

Right? And also, I doubt that these people are over-reacting. People are regularly humiliated on shows like this, and usually don’t have the resources or wherewithal to lawyer up. Good for this family for doing something.

    LOL, try harder.

Right? What the fuck kind of empty, misleading threat is that?

Yeah, totally. It’s almost as if building your entire society and economy around keeping people locked up in your backyard so they can work for you for free until they die will totally fuck up your culture and make you incompatible with a culture that doesn’t do this.

Idk, is it bad that I kind of agree with them? It’s possible to be a feminist and do everything you can for women’s rights (all women) without also watching what’s basically torture porn for MRA’s. I’m sure the book is excellent, and the series is phenomenally done, but I don’t have to see the worst-case scenario.

Absolutely. I think there’s a lot of denial in our culture about how out of hand tuition costs are. Offering a $500 merit scholarship is nice, I guess, but doesn’t actually do much for the student.

    Guitar masses, lol. :D

Ah, I like this. Good for her for making a difference. Can’t imagine how infuriating it must be to explain to your partner of fifteen years why they can’t publicly support Trump, though. Yikes.

Does he support Trump? I thought it was ambiguous, and he won’t publicly comment on it. He also skipped out on the Patriots’ visit to the post-Super Bowl visit to the Trump White House. He’s exactly the kind of tool, who would though.

This argument might make sense if we didn’t live in the richest country in the world. As it is, it’s pretty shit. The US could provide free abortion and family planning services to low income people, for very little money. But we don’t. Instead we force poor women to have children, then throw some pennies at them for

I KNOW! That’s what I was thinking as soon as I started reading the article. I’m sorry these people got so badly ripped off, but damn this is so obvious. Sketchiness and Ja Rule organizing it aside, don’t go to the first of any travel festival!

Yeah, this is really true. Income is only part of the picture. The other part is — has your family accumulated wealth over generations? If compound interest has been working in your family’s favor for even two generations, you’re going to be miles ahead of someone who is making the same as you but without family

I know people like this too. To me, it’s just a natural result of how we’ve decided resources should be distributed in this country. Some people have it a little better than me (e.g. European vacations, parents pay their mortgage), way more people have it way, way worse (unsafe housing, can’t see a dentist).

I don’t know where you’re getting your information, but I don’t know anyone who would describe US prisons as pleasant. Many aren’t even safe. Solitary confinement is used a lot, and if you’re not in solitary, you’re still spending your life in just a few rooms, with your freedom inside these spaces also very

Yeah, totally, trainspotting is cool. It’s stylized, clever, and a heightened version of reality like a lot of good cinema is. It glamorizes this lifestyle at least a little bit (dead baby or no dead baby), although I don’t think this means it’s a harmful movie or shouldn’t have been made.

Ironically, raging through Ohio/Indiana/MI/Wisconsin and making loads of addicts/dealers/their families felons could have shifted the election.

    You shoot up marijuana? Yikes.
