Money. If it’s available to watch somewhere, the people involved have to get paid. Even if it’s only percents of a penny, it adds up and the owners don’t want to pay it.

I binged it too and I was surprised that I liked it a lot. The music didn’t bother me. The only part I really hated was the brownie scene.
A lot of the shows that HBO max removed such as Westworld or The Nevers ended up on the Roku channel, a free ad supported channel. I definitely wouldn’t be surprised for some, if not most, of the removed content to appear on similar channels in the near future.
All this has happened before and will happen again.
Isn’t it ironic that pirates may be our only hope?
At least with torrents there’s a stopgap.
I genuinely thought we were past this. At least with torrents there’s a stopgap. Something like Willow probably isn’t going to disappear for a while. But in 50 years it’ll be like recovering lost Doctor Who episodes on dusty VHS at an estate sale. Someone will find a hard drive with all of Infinity Train on it and the…
How much tv are you watching? Relatively newly released stuff can easily take up a huge amount of time, and consistently. I personally DO watch older movies and shows sometimes, but what the poster commented seems hardly weird or outrageous to me.
Streaming is effectively recreating the world that existed before home video, where you’d come across some show or movie on TV and never be able to see it again. We’re going backwards.
He’s resolved his issues with Legos and is moving on Trauma Tier 2: his feelings for Ken dolls....
Yup, which makes me think they might have solved the rights issues and we’ll get it in the end credits. One can hope
Hari Nef as (Doctor) Barbie? I’m not entirely sure though, I’m bad at faces.
Even though they said that Aqua’s Barbie Girl song wasn’t going to be in the movie, they did sneak a couple of seconds of it at the end of the trailer.
Same. I’m still not convinced he isn’t....
My head-canon is that Will Ferrell’s character here and in the live action portions of The Lego Movie are the same character.
Oh, the show was far superior to the original film, it’s not even a question.
I feel bad for Javier Grillo-Marxuach, a brilliant showrunner who somehow cannot get more than one season of anything he touches...The Middleman, Dark Crystal Age Of Resistance, the live-action Cowboy Bebop...
Has it been three years? Wow.
Age of Resistance was INCREDIBLE and it’s a crime it didn’t get renewed.
This getting cancelled was a definitive example to me that Netflix was becoming a trash service with trash content. As the article says this was, and remains, one of the best Fantasy series in years - and perhaps the better Dark Crystal story, if I’m honest.
I’m inclined to agree. She burned all her political bridges, so who’s going to take her calls? She’s shown spectacularly bad judgment from the beginning, so who would trust her with their money? Her name on a start-up board would be like Trump on your resume. What value does she bring to anything?
Fox will make space for the oh so hilarious TV version of ‘opposing viewpoint’ talking head which translates to ‘act like a barely capable jackass for our amusement’ branded jester for their court.
