He made a music video into dramatic art. I mean Kate’s videos are always great but this is ELEVATED.
This is a personal fave and really the only Clunt Eastwood movie I can stand.
To me he had one of those instant and easily recognizable voices/tones. RIP Oddball...woof, woof, woof!
He was so good!
I think Dementus wants a better way but is too stupid and frozen in his grief to see it. He has no purpose, just a void. When I saw him with that tree growing, I saw tears, but there’s a really important bit earlier in the film that gives it more context. The History Man describes the chemical difference between…
I agree. I rewatched Fury Road the other night. Usually, prequels tend to at least have tonal inconsistencies or a dialogue line or two that doesn’t match the original film, but Furiosa and Fury Road fit seamlessly.
This is the one prequel that can be watched before the original film and not noticing anything off.…
Watched Furiosa on Saturday, and re watched Fury Road on Sunday. Flowed perfectly together, with the added bonus of having a deeper back story on Fury Road characters.
I see that. Part of me felt that maybe it was done that in such a mundane way, taking an actual piece of her body from her, when she had lost so much, as a way to show it’s not going to get better and the world doesn’t care.
Except Dementus is a failure. He’s only attempting to take over the Citadel at the end because he’d already run Gastown into the ground, despite having negotiated better terms than his predecessor.
Nah totally disagree with this take. If anything we see in this movie it’s the Immortan Joe who’s a surprisingly competent leader. Brutal and evil, but he keeps the guzzoline flowing. Whereas we visit Gastown under Dementus’ rule and it’s a complete disaster, and he’s just trying to scheme his way into getting more…
I’ve loved Max since the very first film, but Furiosa has taken the title as the best Road Warrior.
Furiosa was Better Call Saul if Fury Road was Breaking Bad.
As it is a “revenge story” I assumed the ending would be something I’ve seen before in other films, but Oh S***! This I was not expecting. Very body-horror-esque and a perfect form of retribution for her character. Bravo George Miller!
Different actors, same Dead Boys...
They have the same actress playing Death as from the Netflix show. (Was that the plan when this was still nominally an HBO Max show?)
Welcome! Your cardigan and reading glasses will be delivered shortly!
This looks like it will reach the potential that Lockwood and Co. came close to.
Also... I’m old aren’t I? Welcome to the Black Parade is classic rock now, isn’t it?
I imagine his reactions after the final movie came out were tightly bound to his experience making it. With time, we can hope he’s come around to noticing that the fact his character was underutilized was not the only problem with that film, and in fact he may have dodged a bullet by not being too closely associated…
I don’t actually believe this movie is happening. I’m pretty confident they hadn’t even started the script when they announced it. I like Daisy Ridley a lot, I wish her career hadn’t been hurt by her trilogy being so mid through and through. It hasn’t been enough time for anyone to forget how bad Rise was or be…
