Maybe they think this is the “neg” that is going to challenge you to prove them wrong. Meanwhile you’re like, how do I exit this interaction as quickly as possible, forever?

Why do you think this? This seems very inaccurate and also unfair and mean spirited.
Yeah if anything the neuroatypical people I know seem to be more accommodating and respectful of differences among people, and less interested in constraining roles. I have no idea why they are being blamed here. Maybe the blamer lacks empathy.
Whoa keep the people with autism spectrum things out of this judgment. What did they do to deserve that?
I’m sorry you went through this. It is a big factor in relationships, in my experience, and one people almost never talk about. Many guys want a gal smart enough to almost but not quite be their equal. Even when they otherwise seem feminist. I’ve encountered many of these. It is quite refreshing when a guy is…
Actually I have never sat in a classroom where boys and girls behaved equally badly but boys were worse-punished for that. My life is but one piece of anecdote, but it is difficult to contradict the experience of a whole life without, you know, one of the very many studies that supposedly prove it.
Maybe they should behave better, as then they have an advantage, according to this One Study in the many Studies Upon Studies.
What are these studies?
What are these studies?
LOL they are making 100 million from it! Oh, don’t stop.
This is what you said:
Can I ask why the man is dressed like that? Not Will Ferrell, but the pirate LARPer above?
I’m seriously laughing, yes. It’s an important part of the revenue stream, I’m sure.
Oh, how much does it generate in profit? Lol.
Still no clue why you think I’m denying this, but okay.
But this simply is what they do. They don’t bring in some random idiot to talk about geology; they bring in someone with expert knowledge who is selected for being a top researcher in the field. They hold conferences all the time where only the best work is selected. There is a meritocracy of ideas going on at a…
I don’t know anything special about it but don’t think that’s necessary. It’s common practice we hear about often -universities pay a fee to some expert or famous person to come in and speak, and usually attendance is free to their students or even to the public, and I don’t see how that’s a profit engine. For more…
As Anne Branigin noted, we already know what people like Roy Moore think MAGA means, and it involves returning to a time before mere segregation. And to be clear: Trump endorsed Moore.
That’s actually not the only reason why we want to promote freedom of expression. We might be wrong, that’s one thing, and for another, if we’re not wrong, we may need to make clear why the other point of view is wrong and perhaps pernicious. So it’s not merely about the fear of having better speech squelched.
I didn’t realize only Americans were allowed to comment here, but that certainly puts some illuminating context around some of your other remarks.
