Um obviously the dragon had to wait the requisite 1d4 rounds to be able to recharge his breath weapon.

That sounds so interesting… do you have any links to articles for that? Would like to hear more details.

My husband and I thought they cast a lesser-known due to budget (maybe hoping for a franchise). We thought any of Zac Efron, a young Hemsworth, or Dave Franco would've been better - actors who are young enough and can do some silly, flirty, charming, and actiony. Anyone else think of preferred casting for Valerian?

My husband and I thought a forced promo ("Welcome to Alpha! To the west, you will find…") like the ads he ran through while one of their cliched arguments played out in the background would've been a lot funnier and less clumsy.

Maybe they were thinking ahead for franchising purposes, so naming them Harry Potter-style.

I agree with you on Cara. He was the one I found more miscast; he had such a young, soft look (like the poor man's young James McAvoy) that it was hard to believe he was a 'major' anywhere, and he didn't seem to sell the force of personality the (terrible) dialogue thought he should have.

It did move in the interim. That's what the end of the intro was about, the Earth's leader saying they were going to detach it from orbit and send it on its merry way now because it had gotten too big. The movie is set 400 years after that, IIRC.

Yeah, that's not made so clear I suppose. If I had to guess, he pinpointed her as the cause because she was on his mind, having gone through his stuff and put up the table setting photos, and had talked about taking him down.

Subtitles said "our mom" at one point; I got confused by it briefly until another similar line, clearly "your mom", followed up.

I don't do that, but I do get bolder commenting on kooks who pass us in the street when I'm with my 6'4" husband (e.g. quacking at the cyclist who was muttering, "Rubber ducky).

Carter seemed like a man that could enumerate all 203 or whatever deaths he had gone through already and should have detailed them all for the team to skip back to. Failing that, I bet the son could have told them where and when he was when Vandal savage killed his parents. That would've taken them back to maybe the

Clearly, he's too busy running H.Y.D.R.A.

This perfectly describes what I was subconsciously feeling while watching the show. Stylistically, it reminded me of the classic Chinese stories I had read and shows my dad would watch. I enjoy picking up on visual details that sync with my mental image of these stories (the hats delight me).

Promotion? We sure as hell haven't seen anyone else working forensics in the city.

They mean fancy pretty thing, really. Yeah, I would definitely consider Mitch's Prius a nice thing…

Sometimes when I see Americans on TV with their dirty shoes all over their linens, I get the feeling that Mitch and Cam had this episode.

Given that it was snowing hard a week ago, with ground cover, in another part of Canada on the show (someone pinpointed co-ordinates to northern Ontario) and May's trotting down the road from there, it looks like it's supposed to be this time of year. The puddles made it look like snow had melted there. It didn't look
