My hunch is that they didn’t want to figure out how to provide voice chat while the console is plugged into the t.v. Every other console gets around this with a headphone/mic jack in the controller, but the joycons don’t have one. At this point it would be better to go wireless maybe?

I really want a suite of tools like this, and would pay for them, but any system that forces me to buy the individual books digitally is a non-starter for me.

Yes. And a department store asks me for money for products they didn’t create. This is something mod designers can take or leave. No one is forcing them to get on board with this, and if that changes I’ll have a problem with it. As it stands, if someone’s mod is being sold through Bethesda, it will because they chose

Right, but now we are presumably centuries, if not millennia past the recession of the great sea. My bet is that the writers went with a huge time gap from the previous games specifically so it could be so ambiguously plausible that any of the timelines could lead to this future.

My thought is that pre Hyrule Historia, there were clumps of continuity. Several games were clearly linked, especially a lot of the newer ones. But I think a lot of the older ones especially were never made with a series wide continuity in mind. They made the timeline in the Historia because they felt obligated to,

My wager at this point would be that they have placed this game so far into the future (look at that Sheikah tech) that all the timelines have blurred together and there’s no way to tell which one it is. Perhaps with enough time the civilizations in all of them would end up in approximately the same state.

Maybe that was true at one point or the series taken as a whole, but there are plenty of games, especially newer ones, that do make mentions of the other games.

I think it depends a lot on exactly where you are.

I started reading it recently, not knowing it was unfinished. It’s really good, but then I hit the wall.

My thoughts exactly. It looks like a fun game, but I feel like I will miss the sprite art from the original.

If it’s a prequel, should the title really have a ‘2' at the end of it?

Oh, I just realized i’s Arc Systems amazing the game. Well, it’ll probably be a better fighting game for it, but if their previous games are any indication, it’s going to be a relatively tight roster. At least compared to something like the Budokai games.

Now all I’m waiting for is confirmation of a gratuitously deep roster of fighters, filled with characters both famous and so minor you don’t even remember who they are without looking at the wiki. I know that sounds facetiously, but that really is all I’ve ever wanted.

At least when it comes to huge mods like Enderall and Skywind, I support this kind of monetization. People who create mods that expansive and labor intensive shouldn’t have to depend in the kindness of strangers to be paid for their work. And on the off chance Bethesda ends up giving any kind of additional resources

I think they meant “Quarren”

Those are all true, but none of them seem like compelling enough reasons to not make the games. I rebought every 64 game they offered that I had previously owned for the 64. Port the most popular games and a few under appreciated gems, and let people adjust to the new controller. Also, we live in a time where the

True, it could have been done. But then that wouldn’t be Tess. or even if they still used Tess’s model and voice actor, it would still be a fundamentally different character with a different history.

Yeah, especially without all emotional baggage and ptsd Joel has over losing his actual daughter. Tess might have been more willing to let go.

Is he really inspired by Leeland Gaunt? I thought he was a reference to Walter O’Dimm/Randall Flagg. Or depending on what you want to believe, actually Walter O’Dimm.

“While my weapons and money disappeared into the abyss, my new power was permanent. That meant I could explore new nooks and crannies in future configurations of the first area, as well as the game’s other locations”
