The way the planeswalker cards work is hat number in the lower right hand corner is how many loyalty counters it comes into play with. Planes walkers are a permanent that can be attacked as a target instead of a player, and it loses tokens equal to the damage it takes. If it loses them all, it goes to the graveyard.
