It's amazing that anyone would want to be photographed with Lavigne. Granted, I've never been to Brazil, but I assumed they had a 6 hour time difference. I didn't realize it was 2002 down there.

This is why I chose to be with my dog when it was time to put him down. It was without a doubt one of the hardest things to do, but I felt comforted by the fact that I was there with him until the end—and that he felt the same comfort since I was there to see him off.

You stay with your pet when he or she is being euthanized. I don't care that it is "too hard" for you. You suck it up, hold your pet, give kisses, and stay until the very end. Then you go to the beach and scream for as long as it takes. You do not leave your pet behind to be euthanized alone. Period. (Also, this vet

Thus bringing to life the saying, "It's my world; you're just living in it."

Wow.

A woman is dead and has grieving family and friends, so I don't want to snark, but goddamn do I want to snark.

I also just want to point out that when I was graduating in 2011, the administration turned down a VAWA grant worth $300k to prevent sexual assault. Gail Hanson, the VP of Campus Life stated her reasons here: https://www.facebook.com/notes/american…

Great article Erin but you could have just said that they suffered from mass affluenza and will end up in cushy finance and law jobs or terrorizing their employees as middle-managers at their parents' companies.

Jesus Walter Christ. My reward for doing my allotted chores was not-yelled-at dollars and you-can-go-watch-Clarissa-now cents. I would have squirreled away the HELL out of that kind of money, if I made any allowance. Think of how many Chupa-Chups $45 would buy...

No shit. It is more than quadruple the new suggested minimum wage. FOUR TIMES. For chores done so shittily you have to do them again when they are done.

Seriously. I Holy Fucking Shitted at that one. I need to get that kind of work.

Um, I think the real problem is:

If only the comma was a semicolon, I'd agree.

"fake fucking Yurman" — unconscionable.

I have the problem of often replying very literally to questions. So when they'd say "is this for a boy or a girl" I'd be like "well it's FOR a girl, but she wants the Hot Wheels". And then I sound even snottier than I already am.

I love activist kids

Now this is the kind of love story that I like to read.

Among the folks I know (and once again, these are just people who I'm close enough to know their stories—sample size of maybe like 7 couples), it was really a "first available baby" kind of situation. Except in one case, a friend of mine adopted a child (who was like 3) that a family member was unable to care for, and

Right. And my experience is completely anecdotal of course so I'm not skeptical of the stats, I was just surprised that my circle of friends and acquaintances were so far out of the norm. In fact, of all the people my age I know who have adopted children, I can only think of one couple (a white couple) who adopted
