Phoenix is magnificent, but I agree completely on the score.

I think the difference is one is a well-made adaptation, while the other cheaply apes better movies while offering nothing new or insightful.

Its not my favorite score of the year.  But its still higher quality then the script.  Why yes I get that reference when you name the club Pogo Todd.  Your not clever.
