I think she’s hilarious. And after walking out of an in-progress show for the Douglas tour earlier this year, my first takeaway is that she is the best-possible heir to the hole CK left in the comedy world. (Whether you’d still go see a show of his or not—I wouldn’t—I think there’s no denying that the caliber of his

How is doing standup about HER OWN EXPERIENCES trying to be relevant and woke? Just like CK, she’s doing bits about her own life. The fact that you see her as a “SJW tryhard” and him as authentic says more about YOU than it does either of them.

Yeah, I laughed a lot during Nanette and I laughed even more during Douglas. She’s funny. She wouldn’t have made it to the point in her career where she could have done Nanette if she weren’t. These people are just being assholes.

I accidentally left my copy of BL,RW at a friend’s house in another city, so I’ve only read about 150 pages of it (but will be retrieving it in a few weeks). But 7 Killings is an all-time great. It’s not easy. It’s got a zillion characters and plot threads and a lot of different lexicons in play. But it is absolutely

I love this man.

Veep did this the best that it will ever be done.

I  hate this song more than almost any song ever in the history of music.

No Nicole Deniss-Benn, either, although I’m pretty sure this site covered her debut novel.

I normally hate anything so much as memoir-adjacent. But Aleksandar Hemon is such a great writer that I may break my own rules to check that book out.

Well it would have been nice of the writers to bother clarifying any of this for the viewers.

Nope. I loved the beheading of Ned Stark. It was honestly the first moment that the show went from “let’s see what this is all about” to “can’t miss TV” for me.

I hated nearly every moment of the last two episodes. And I didn’t love the one before that, either.

I can completely believe Dany deciding the only way she can successfully rule is by fear. But I can’t believe her deciding to start murdering a bunch of civilians before she even takes out her primary target. It makes no sense and is completely bad storytelling. Dany’s temptations toward burning have always existed,

THIS THIS THIS. All of it.

I’m totally fine with the LOST ending. I dislike the BSG ending. I HATE GOT’s last season.

That’s an insultingly dismissive response. Yep. No one could think this was poorly written. No, we’re all just whiners.

I still haven’t watched that show. (I know! I know!)

Kinja loathes me. I must have done something to it in a past life.

Didn’t Reality Bites and Empire Records come out about the same time? I definitely saw them about the same time. I will also never tire of discussing Empire Records.

Lady has not aged a goddamned day.

There’s a weirdness to Reality Bites’ legacy in that I don’t think it’s at all a good movie, and yet I cannot deny that it has a certain something about it that accounts for its weird staying power. It’s a movie I don’t like, but will never tire of discussing.
