Do the WB execs realize that Black Canary is called that not because she is black? It would have been fine if they made Harley black or whatever, because her name is not associated with race, but this is just a weird choice. It’s too clean and cliche. Blade Runner was revolutionary in part because it was an entire world that you felt was real and lived-in. When you came out of the theater or the movie room you were surprised that it wasn’t raining. It almost had a smell. This however looks very clean and stripped down - basic.

Good riddance. These last several seasons were a complete cluster. I suspect that the Whitaker can do better, but it’s hard to tell from the idiocy we’ve been getting instead. This sounds like a less technical and more vague version of the DS9 Technical Manual. Could be interesting, but doesn’t seem to be anywhere near as good - at least from the two pages shown here. Some of the material likely repeats from the original book.

Unfortunately BBC rode Dr. Who into the ground, at least for now. If you look at the ratings, the number viewers for the show have been steadily dropping. My guess is that any decent spinoff right now would kill the original Dr. Who show by pulling away a large portion of the remaining fans.
