    I like the general thrust of your argument, though I think you glossed over F1's struggles of the past decade or so. Here’s how I’d phrase your otherwise astute rejoinder:

    My first and only trip to Austin was last October for the USGP. Absolutely everyone I know who has an opinion about such things insisted I had to go to Franklin BBQ while I was there. That was all the incentive I needed.
