What about pina coladas, and getting drunk in the rain?
What about pina coladas, and getting drunk in the rain?
yeah, he can be uneven but Summerland, Gentlemen of the Road, Kavalier & Clay, Yiddish Policemens Union are amazing. I hated Mysteries of Pittsburgh and couldn't get through Telegraph Avenue
Yup, tried to get through Telegraph Avenue, failed to get through first 100 pages, didn't get it at all. Moonglow sounds promising so fingers crossed it's a return to form.
How do you feel about the clear, crisp sound of Huey Lewis and The News?
Yes, he notes that Oxy addiction created a market that the Cartels stepped into, but the fall in their income from marijuana they saw was the impetus at their side for the move.
Didn't get that impression. He pinpoints demand as the base of the problem, though how you'd change that is a mystery. He also points out the amounts of money involved which is corrupting everyone involved on some level.
Correct yes, it was only one factor in a larger picture. But the fact that the Cartels saw their income being eaten into led them to explore other options, the manufacture & distribution of synthetic opioids being one of them
As self absorbed as I was, I would have worked that one out, but I grew up in a rural area with pretty defined roles and role models. So alot of what I understood was down to my surroundings. I get we're all wired differently & no version of sexuality/gender/whatever is superior to any other, just at 8 the brain…
True, good point, but don't think I understood the implications of it all. Just curious if someone could be so definitive at that age, seems like alot for someone so young to understand. Not saying it's not possible, genuinely no idea.
Do the kids in the studies you read flip back and forth at all until, dunno, maybe puberty? 8 seems kind of young to fully understand something as complex as gender. Barely remember being 8, but think I was pretty oblivious to the outside world. Not much of a sample size granted but..
Problem is the cartels are so wealthy and large now, they'll just diversify. Human weakness is the driver of the drugs business, tough to know how to fix that. Powerful piece from Esquire on the effect of marijuana legalisation (among other things) and the law of unintended consequences
Woah kid, you didn't post something on A.V. Club cos it might be in poor taste? I dunno how to break this to you but..

Pfft. Only in your Hu-man years.
Now I need to know what he thinks of I Walked with a Zombie
Would you go to a doc called Dr Death? Seems … risky
Fear the Riding Reedus
Yup, "right wing" soccer players in Europe would have it as their squad number, and claim it was a coincidence. Usually in an interview giving out about the Africans or gypsies.
Glenn Thrush has an interesting interview with Roger Stone who worked for Trump early on in his campaign. It was a deliberate choice to ignore advertising & normal political organising in favour of getting free press from the media via doing as many tv/radio interviews as physically possible & generating controversy.…
The sons seem to be morons tbh. Don Jr coming out yesterday with the whole, Dad is crazy as a bedbug, but we have checks & balances to keep him from getting too crazy. Who is letting these people in front of a camera?
