That was actually my least favorite part. Why would X-Wing's still be in service. We saw how quickly technology changed from the prequel trilogy to the original trilogy that it makes little sense that they would still be using a 30 plus year old design. That scene just proved to me how this will probably be nothing

I don't know, I really kinda hated it. The voiceover was just wretched, and it really just furthered my fear that this will be really nothing but fanservice. All the tech we did see seems relatively unchanged from that of the original trilogy and it's supposed to be 30 years in the future. If Abrams wanted to keep all

Oh no my eyes!!!!!!!!! Note to self; Do NOT look straight into the stigma!!!!!!

You understand how writing credits work in pop music right. As the artist gets more popular they then start putting their name on the songwriting credits without contributing a damn thing. Case in point-Robin Thicke's testimony about the writing credits on "Blurred Lines". That's not just an isolated case either, its

You're operating on the assumption that this is a "solid pop album". Maybe, just maybe, we have different ideas as to what constitutes a "solid pop album". Maybe you're too mired in fangirlism to have an objective perspective on this "solid pop album".

Ya but if you actually listen to the lyrics it's clear that it's moralistic horeshit.

No he doesn't, he's just a tiny guy is all.

But you're just conflating taste with quality, some people recognize that those are two separate things.

That or they got a boner one time looking at Jesus on the cross and can't handle the shame.

And you're still with this fiance?

Maybe he means the ardent anti-religious atheists who believe religion shouldn't exist?

Oh it starts as an angle but eventually you end up believing in all that bullshit.

To be fair I think he was actually saying how that's not how you are supposed to witness to them but the video was just edited it to appear that way. Which I have no problem with, it's funny but I still want to make sure the devil is justly getting his due.

He does believe in a "cure" so to speak. The guy is evil and there's nothing to be had trying to have a constructive dialogue with these people. If people want to edit videos to make him look like even more of a douche then I really have no problem with that.

I think that's the point. This is just to make fun of Kirk. The cuts are pretty obvious.

Hmmmmm

It was as Doug called it "a Jon Hamm-eo".

If by polite you mean incredibly passive aggressive and quietly racist then we'll go with polite.

In fairness the AvClub does seem to pick and choose it's targets in regards to these sorts of things, much like other ostensible news organizations. They've been silent over the recent Dunham and Lange controversies for instance, as well as taking a more considered approach with the likes of Allen.

Except he's not honest. He's confrontational when his crime is mentioned, and displays very little remorse over his actions. It seems more like he's upset his crime inconvenienced him and is sorry for what it did to him, but not really all that sorry for the pain he inflicted.
