Considering Abe's strong and off putting social and political views, I'd wager I'd more inclined to agree with Miyazaki than to disagree. Unless of course he's chiding Abe for not being extreme enough, but I don't see how that is possible.

The X-men was that show for me. I loved it as a kid, and although I can still admire it's ambition, it really is atrocious. The writing, the voice acting, the animation, it's almost unwatchable if you're not being blinded by nostalgia.

I think it just amplified his fascistic and bigoted tendencies. It's not like he became a changed man, all the bullshit was already readily apparent, it was just a bit more nuanced than it was after 9/11.

People knew her if they saw her, and she had already started to cultivate a screen persona, but I don't think many people outside of the type of people who frequent a site like this really "knew who she was".
