its more of a jab than a slam, so i didn’t lose more than 10 mph. I also took over immediately, so if I just let the system do its thing, not sure what it would do.

I think you are underestimating how big volkswagen is. nothing at that scale is a non-zero number for any manufacturer, and why give anything (however small) away for free if it doesn’t help sell cars?
if you read it, larger than expected warranty claims is not why they scaled it back
my tesla model 3 has some of the same issues with autopilot that you mentioned. A favorite trick is occasionally slamming on the brakes when approaching an overpass that the car presumes is blocking the entire road. or slamming on the brakes mid left lane pass when it mistakenly thinks a semi truck is drifting over…
or baby sitting, or disabled.
former pizza delivery guy here. If you order the same thing from the same phone number, same address, at a predicable interval and don’t tip, don’t be surprised if the quality of food and service tends to decline over time. not that we ever did anything gross. but the food was guaranteed to take longer, not be handled…
VAG: We have an idea...lets take the VW Golf, and make it worse. And charge more for it.
The Public: I WILL BUY ONE
Ford makes F250s 2 miles from my office. When I factory order them for my job, those bastards sit “in transit” for months before we finally receive delivery. Its nonsensical.
my 20 year old TJ wrangler will probably still be on the road in 15 years and worth near the same its worth now. unlike the land rover discovery FeO2 edition which will be sitting in a field worth about the same as used toilet paper
i don’t know if i would ever consider spending $2500 per year on a $2900 car with frame rot a good deal, but i’ve always loved the way they look.
the 330e really is a cow isn’t it?
yikes. there were some seemingly decent one on craigslist near where I live for under 2k and part of me was like, man whats the worst that could happen for 2k? And of course the answer is a perfectly useless car for 2k plus tax and title that isn’t worth fixing. I got an old wrangler instead.
i just invented a segment - the GTUV - grand touring utility vehicle
i shopped these briefly, I was scared away by the combination of a guaranteed head gasket issue at this mileage combined with a major frame issue.
my understanding is the achilles heel of this model (and why they are so cheap) is related to head gaskets wanting to fail (and it being thousands upon thousands to fix) combined with a huge frame rot problem. So you have a vehicle that will need a potential $5k repair with rotten essentially unrepairable frame…
Came here to say, would be more efficient to set it to detect when there isn’t a pothole, but I like yours better
The BMW 5 series now also comes with a 4 cylinder, hello 2019
could 2 sets of golf clubs actually fit in a current corvette? If so, that’s fairly shocking.
It’s weird with the Alfa dealers. I went in one to test drive one and they acted strange and unhelpful so I left. Normally you get accosted at a dealership
it was for my wife. we left with a jetta sedan. sad face. its been a great car though.
