Oh, I totally agree. But we live in an age where kids sent to prep schools are more likely to incur self-loathing because of it: at least, in my experience with ex-prep schoolers. They are embarrassed about it or try not to mention it. On the other hand, not sending George to Eton wouldn’t help much with that, so they

I can only assume that this Montessori preschool is a weak compromise for George’s future at Eton. Poor kid, load up on normal now you wee, doomed thing.

Shucks, thanks!

This is why you never pick “dare.”

Thus, only 14%...

No, it’s because parents with daughters are 70% more likely to watch Gilmore Girls.

Yeah, sorry to be a downer. Unless you’re actively looking for it, you’re not going to see it, usually. A lot of drug users and/or providers are really good at keeping it under wraps, or covering it up with another, lesser— or at least legal—problem.

Depends on what you mean by “underground.” You might be surprised by the people in your life who are already on drugs or involved in distribution— no matter where you live or what demographic you occupy. I know I have been surprised by my close ones and I worked in rehab, albeit briefly.

It Takes Two was my favorite movie for a very, very long time.

Awesome, more dinner for Rat Rat.

This post is exquisite. I feel everything and nothing.

Selfish, stupid, dangerous hubris. I’m glad they threw the book at them.

Wait. They lit a fire on land they were leasing from the government. It’s not their land to manage via FIRE. It might have been the right thing to do, but it’s not their call to make. Good rule of thumb: don't set fire to stuff that isn't yours.

Well I already know where to look.

It would be better if it were a poor kid in women’s clothing, but I’ll take it.

Hmm, it doesn’t seem strange to me that HBO wouldn’t take a gamble on a ten hour documentary about poor, unglamorous people. They’re really into celebrity docs and highly stylized ones about underprivileged demographics, and Making A Murderer is neither of these things. I mean, the unending B Roll of the junkyard was

Not accurate. I'm interested. But I know it's inappropriate of me.

It was a whole revelation. And so freeing. I look at those beautiful sculpted people now with the same level of wistfulness that I look at tall people or natural red heads: aesthetically pleasing but not in the cards. Shrug.
