What Jennings said about handicapped folks was wrong and the expectation should have been that he apologized (he did) and not continue saying shit like that (he hasn’t). That should be it.

I’m not saying Jennings’ tweets/comments shouldn’t have cost him the job - I don’t know, I’m not a doctor - but as others have pointed out, it’s nuts that he lost out on the job to one dude who was involved in literal lawsuits in addition to much worse comments, as well as one lady who’s engaged in anti-science and

There is plenty of room for him to grow, and I hope he does. It would be great if he did. There is just plenty of other entertainment for me to watch that doesn’t feature a 40 year old man saying stuff that I knew not to say when I was 8.

He’s right, almost. The only thing sadder than a hot person in a wheelchair is a hot person wearing a MAGA hat.

I don’t actually care who hosts Jeopardy as long as it’s not a rich executive with a history of sexual harassment who failed upwards to give himself the job, and I think Jennings would be fine, but I was replying to a post saying “kids now grow up now with so many social media platforms ... and they don’t have a

What the whole Jennings tweet controversy highlights to me is that everyone, especially on the internet, really loves to read between the imaginary lines and project that everything has some much deeper meaning than it might actually have. Jennings had a shitty, unfunny, ableist tweet that was bad and in poor taste.

Let’s just skip to the part where Joel McHale is suddenly host and the show’s canceled in two seasons.

It is incredibly funny to me that in 2021 Ken fucking Jennings, a little Opie-looking dork who everybody likes, is 2 hot 4 TV.

“No, I won’t read the words on your Devil Box, English, and I don’t much approve of the shiny buttons adorning your jacket neither.”

Has anyone bothered to offer JK Simmons cuz he would kill as host.

If the guest hosting spots were the “auditions” that everyone has been treating them as, Buzzy should have gotten the full-time gig. I wouldn’t be upset if LeVar got the job, but he was easily in the bottom half if I had to rank solely by their performance as guest host.

That would explain how Jennings is out and Bialik is in. Well, that and fame.

What’s amusing is that 99% of Jeopardy watchers probably would never have even heard about this tweet, and the ones that did would mostly not care.  People drastically overestimate the real-world impact of social media outrage.

Was he the second-to-last guest host? I liked him, too. I wouldn’t mind him getting the job permanently. Same with Cohen.

That’s right the next host of Jeopardy! is... Josiah from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania!

I’m not sure I understand the need for a new round of guest hosts. It’s not like the non-Mike Richards candidates didn’t get the job because they didn’t prove themselves; they didn’t get the job because he was always planning to give it to himself. Ideally, this situation has taught them that it’s unimaginably stupid

Most people get by just fine, even with the current levels of social media omnipresence, because most people aren’t vying for incredibly cushy multi-million dollar jobs where the only real requirements are being reliable, likeable and inoffensive.

On the one hand: Those tweet sucked.

On the other hand: Looking at those tweets and then deciding to hire Richards and Bialik.

Alex, what is a “milkshake duck.”

I’d love it if LeVar Burton got another try. He didn’t put in a great performance, but he also wasn’t given any of the perks the frontrunners received (e.g. two weeks of hosting, focus group testing, a trial show before filming, etc.).
