There aren't too many big established actresses who could step into this role and command the funding that zoe saldana could get. Besides Mary J. Blige some names I've heard were India Arie, Uzo, Leslie Jones, Viola Davis and Danai Gurira.

The whole episode felt like an homage to an 80's action movie so I gave it a pass. It's not the kind of thing the show could get away with doing more than once.
can't go through almost 700 comments but it's worth mentioning the scene where rosita shoots a guy and "blood" gets on the camera filming the scene. it was a nice fourth wall breaking, videogame-esque moment
for what it's worth, the camera did cut to the weeknd who immediately covered his mouth and doubled over when he saw stacey dash walk onstage (he was maybe supposed to clue the audience to the fact that this was an unexpected/controversial choice). i can't tell if i was more surprised that stacey dash came on stage or…
when he was in blade as hannibal king and when he played deadpool in wolverine origins
in theory i'm okay with that line of reasoning (allow me to ramble as well). not every film that we enjoy should be nominated for something. i still think idris elba should have been nominated for best actor regardless of how many people saw the movie. i don't think viewership takes away from a performance (how many…
part of the issues is that the academy could nominate more actors than they would up nominating. i don't understand why the maximum is 10 but they never nominate 10.
the point is also that the academy can nominate up to ten choices in each category but they again chose to only nominate 8 for best actor
man. i just heard that celine dion's husband died of cancer today as well. cancer may not win the war but it is definitely winning the battle in january so far
i appreciate your honesty. i don't doubt that your brother comes from a good place but may have moments where he could strive for more understanding. our society is constantly evolving, and right now we need more people who are willing to have uncomfortable conversations about race in good faith and with mutual…
I've also thought a lot about this too. As a black woman I would never argue that other people should be with someone, particularly someone from another race, just to prove that they are not racist. I would also never argue that black women, particularly, should be with (or settle for) someone from another race -…
I keep seeing people use the new star wars movie as an example of how female led movies can dominate at the box office, but, if we're really honest, how many people would actually NOT watch the new star wars movie (which promised to undo what lucas did to the franchise) because the story centered around a girl? the…
I actually saw that episode. She seemed sincere in her desire not to get lost in frumpy mommy clothes but that may have been before she converted to orthodox judaism. Then again,I just google searched her and she seems to like wearing modern clothing just fine. Maybe it's just a style choice she made for the show.
if keira knightley's character hadn't died in the prequels this would have been the perfect opportunity to have past meeting the present. i'm just not sure daisy and keira can be in the same scene together without my mind exploding
part of the problem is that a large section of the audience doesn't want, or feel they need, that much backstory or insight into the characters. people have come to not expect that level of exposition or drama from the series anymore, partly because of how lucas bogged down the prequels. i know there's a happy medium…
Thank you. this movie was good, but if you took away the star wars name it would be just another good marvel film. Lucas really poisoned the well for a lot of viewers (the lucas rage is probably a bit undeserved) so it's going to take time for this movie to get a more balanced review from the general public.
I think people should be careful of steering clear of everything lucas did with the prequels. action and fun characters are nice, but if you keep whittling away at exposition and complex subtle character work you can end up with a michael bay film.
the movie was pretty good. the actors were great but the plot felt like it let them down somewhat. I know the trend is to have more action and less dialogue, but i think that it really hurting movies today. As someone else said, if they didn't want to weigh the movie down with expository dialogue they should have put…
daisy ridley needs to have a dna test done because she reminded me that much of keira knightley; it was scary
she's the taylor swift of beauty pageants
