"While Eurovision is not supposed to be political" HAHAHAHAHA
I used the examples in my comment to show that creativity, inventivity and novelty has always been about bringing stuff from different cultures together. But I suppose you'd rather it didn't exist. So bye bye pizza, bye bye risotto, bye bye anything you've ever worn and liked and eaten, etc.
"cultural appropriation" is the new expression people who want to feel open-minded and culturally aware throw around. It doesn't actually mean anything. The whole of human history is, by definition about cultural appropriation: one culture being influenced/inspired by another and incoporating something into their own…
He totally has serial killer eyes.
Really? Who are the other creepy friends of hers? Asking for a friend. Not really haha, I love gossip.
fewer annual rapes occur in India than in the US, despite India having a significantly larger population"
Yep. That's why I'm always amazed that him and Kate Winslet are such good friends. And Kate speaks in such higly terms about him and he clearly seems to adore her. I suppose this is all about the madonna/whore complex for Leo. That makes him even more gross.
Justin Timberlake has the reputation of being a massive asshole.
Is it Jezebel's intent to ruin every Mad Men character by revealing unsavoury details about the actors's personal lives?
Right? This thread is making me realize that there are people who like Eurovision unironically. That's the biggest news as far as I'm concerned. Come on people, this show is a tacky mess, the songs are terrible, everyone sings in English (what is the point again? of calling it EUROvision?) and the winners always fade…
I've just googled what Pledge of Allegiance was because I had no idea what it was. Well, my mind is blown. I fear this is one of those things I will never understand, like the gun control debate, about the US.
There is nothing in my eye. It's because of allergies.
You're right, I shouldn't have said you were lacking empathy.
The African Union hasn't been efficient in any recent conflicts since its creation 12 years ago: completely absent in Mali, inadequate in Libya, overwhelmed in Côte d'Ivoire. I wish it wasn't the case but the rality is that the AU isn't competent right now to handle the situation.
Given the US track record when it comes to following UN directives, well, I'm not exactly surprised nobody here has thought of this option.
You realize countries can do both right? That doing one doesn't preclude you from doing the other? That is, if you manage to have enough empathy to care about people in countries that are not the USA. It's not always only about you and your country. Jesus.
Oh of course, I wasn't saying that what the school/church did wasn't shitty. I was just being very cynical and (unfortunately) realistic with regards to the likelihood of this boy wearing dresses/skirts in the near future. But I'm also sure that sooner or later, some parent was going to say something about that…
Here's the thing: while I think it's awesome that this little boy gets to wear whatever he wants and that his parents support him, the reality is that if he keeps wearing dresses, he will get bullied (if he isn't already). Yes, I would like those ridiculous gendered standards to change, of course, but do you really…
No. Go buy a dictionary and look up the word because you clearly don't know what you're talking about.
