Silly kid, this is not a news site.
Silly kid, this is not a news site.
That kind of annoying phrasing has been rampant at other sites (e.g. BuzzFeed, Cracked) for years. I hadn’t noticed it creep into AVC content until fairly recently. That and the whole, “Hey, let’s publish a listicle a day because that’s what gets engagement” approach to content. Just more evidence of how this site is…
We over-index at moviegoing, so why shouldn’t there be content for us if we are the ticket buyers?
This probably had more people watching than the viewership of every single episode of Succession combined, and as soon as it was over, the cultural memory of it evaporated like the steam on a microwave window after nuking some easy mac
“You didn’t know” is a preeeeeeeeeeeetty big stretch for a lot of these, but there were a handful I wasn’t aware of, so those were fun!
I’m gonna quit while I’m ahead on trying to remember this stuff. Suffice it to say it was not as important to them as the previous seven years or whatever.
Good for you
The weird Cannes thing of giving standing ovations to everything, but timing it so people know “this is a lukewarm 5 minute ovation” vs “this is a rapturous 7 minute ovation” might be one of the strangest things in Hollywood..
Whenever someone describes their film or TV show as ‘provocative’ you know that it involves a piece-of-shit male protagonist abusing a pretty white woman who’s madly in love with him.
I also never felt like the Seinfeld main cast were bad people per se, just stereotypical self-absorbed New Yorkers. It’s a city where you pretty much have to look out for yourself first and they behaved accordingly. They had moments of recognizable weakness or panic (Jerry stealing the marble rye comes to mind) but…
An unfunny clip show. As great as it was for its entire run it deserves #1.
I don’t want interesting from Seinfeld. I want funny. And it was not.
While the seventh season of Dexter was not one of its better ones, the first three-quarters where Ray Stevenson was the main antagonist was a darn near return to form compared to the abysmal sixth season. Steven brought his trademark menace, but also depth and vulnerability, to a very different sort of killer than…
Non-consensual method.
Well, not in the Gainesville FL or Chapel Hill, NC sense, but there are plenty of colleges/ universities in Boston (BU, BC, MIT, Tufts, Emerson, Northeastern, etc.)
Did he really do the speech wearing sunglasses, as if BU was giving an honorary doctorate to the world’s lamest Blues Brother?
acting keeps him away from rapping
Some agency out there is working stupid hard promoting Jack Harlow. That guy is everywhere. He’s a mediocre rapper and a terrible actor yet you can’t escape him the last couple of years. His agent(s) are earning their checks
1. This is the least surprising review ever
