Tomorrow morning I have to drive to the other end of Connecticut from NJ for my Uncle’s funeral. Tonight though I’m fixing a bit pot of chili, drinking an ommegang and meditating with some Fleet Foxes on this autumn evening.

Are there openings for chemists on the Belafonte?

Is anybody here a marine biologist?

All you music fans in the NY tristate area, WFUV is a godsend. An oasis in a desert of unlistenable trash commercial radio. 90.7. Try it you won’t regret it.

My family is reeling from an unexpected sudden passing yesterday.

Football needs a little liveliness, a little fun. Between the impending brain trauma, massive potential for debilitating injury and every network treating Sunday like they’re analyzing opposing Generals’ battle plans, its really refreshing to know that yea, these guys are having actual FUN out there.

I hear there’s a piece of black volcanic rock buried in a hay field in Buxton.

If there’s anything we’ve learned from this and “here comes the pizza” ... its that the Boston sportscaster accent makes everything at least 10x funnier.

Surreal.

First and only time in Cincinnati: a friend’s wedding, we went to an “Italian” restaurant for the rehearsal dinner the night before, which had all the trimmings & decor of a proper Italian place on the surface. It was known for its brick oven pizza and sure enough had a wood fired brick oven going in the back. We all

I have never, not once, read an article on this or any of the other 6 (former) GN blogs and thought “gee, instead of posting a comment, and potentially sparking an interesting converstaion/dialogue, let me spew some unintelligent garbage at the author themselves, via their email address”. Who are these people?

I think that’s because Citi Field is just a nice name for a ballpark... If it had been called... oh... Northshore LIJ Park or Amway Field (there is an Amway center IN it don’t forget) or Deloitte Center you’d find more people reverting back to saying Shea.
