I'd like to meet his tailor.

@dsnoir: You can mod your holga to shoot 35mm. It results in super-cool looking "sprocket hole" exposures. Check out www.holgamods.com

I had been told by a photography teacher that photos on the NYC subway were illegal. With a little research, I've now found that its actually completely legal.

@dsnoir: Developing costs are outrageous for 120, since places like wallmart and rite-aid can't just pop it in their simple machine and develop it. However... you can buy simple darkroom supplies and develop it yourself for a few hundred bucks investment. If you're planning on making a hobby out of it, like I do, it

@tavisdunn: touche salesman. I do indeed mean 120 format.

@Fulgurite: Yea, 'blad, rollei, etc. have been making full frame 120s for awhile, but they cost a small fortune. part of what makes the holga so great is that its cheap. I own five, all of which i bought for less than 100 bucks. If they start integrating expensive sensors, its going to inevitably drive the cost up.

Even if its a full-frame 35mm sensor, its still going to have nowhere near the pixels or resolution of the 120mm film. Digital will always be handicapped in this way.

Sheesh. If you think Giz is bad with ads, go to Esquire. They take the cake. hands down.

This is exactly like when Billy Pilgrim was abducted by the Trafalmadorians in Slaughterhouse Five and forced to live in a zoo.

Or you could just, you know, keep track of your water usage by looking at your water meter.

I agree with the need to detatch from technology every so often. Here's how I do this; and it doesn't involve listening to monotonous bass drones or white noise machines. It just takes 4 simple steps and some basic equipment.

@awer25: It would be if you got a Defender 90/110. As long as it wasn't a Disco 1 or Freelander...

Wait wait wait... in the first article, you're telling us to convert our entire house to run on electricity, costs be damned. Then, in the last article, you're saying not to use that very same electricity by installing revolting switches!

whats the difference between the euro spec and NA spec fiesta? I thought it was exactly the same except for reinforced bumpers that added weight. Did they soften the suspension too?

"this car was designed for someone with three arms and one leg... to do a hill start you'd have to steer it with your face."

@LTDScott: Move your god-durned house son!

@screemname: The cathedrals in europe often took longer than 100 years to build. 100 is actually average for cathedral construction. st peters in rome took nearly 200, Notre Dame in Paris was right around 100, and the Segreda Familia in Barcelona was begun in 1882 and is not expected to be completed until 2026, at

One of my favorite "features" of my old range rover is the long-travel gas and brake pedals. It makes me feel like the car is "shoving off" each time I accelerate, and it gives me great control over the throttle. The brakes are always a bit alarming to people who haven't driven the car before, since you need to push

@Rushkie: True. The good thing is that you can't make a right from the opposite direction onto the ramp, there's another ramp around the corner for people coming from that direction. I usually try and make sure that I'm not directly alongside of other people making lefts, so if they do drift into the outside lane no
