Before her current Pacifica my mom drove two sequential Buick station wagons, a Roadmaster from 1993 and an electra estate 1985. I have such fond memories of those cars. I learned to drive in the '93, with its column shifted auto, giant 5.7L LS V8 and the floaty, extremely comfortable ride that absorbed all but the

Driving in New Jersey has given me true appreciation for 4 things:

@Krautwagen: Replace Uncle John's Band with Turn on your lovelight, or one more saturday night, or china cat sunflower or throwing stones and you're onto something...

@Triborough: Lucky you're on Jalop. Giz will ban you for saying "what's a zune?" even if its sarcastic...

@01NB: I still have one of those in use in my car daily. It remains the best way (for me) to hook my iPod into the hideously complex LR stereo...

@01NB: Or the end credits from fear and loathing

Zondas have always had one of the best interiors amongst the hypercars. I really like the giant toggle switches, periscope air vents and the fantastic chunky leather steering wheel. it just seems like its designers are having so much more fun than the guys at say, bugatti or ferrari.

@leavethegun-takethecannoli: It looks like a typical precast concrete double tee design. Precast rarely fails, given strict factory control of concrete mixes and rebar placement. I can't fathom how this would have happened, but then I'm just an architect, any civvies want to chime in?

@Tossed Accordtaco salad over Malibu: Exactly, all parking decks have 2 or more ramps, an UP ramp and a DOWN ramp. Just carefully have everyone drive their cars around and down the up ramp or vice versa.

@pauljones: If this thing is a misfit, where does the x6 come in? Unwed backwoods cousin you only see at holidays?

@TimTim: Owning a smart car on a five year payment plan must be something like waking up next to someone with the looks of slagathor, then realizing you also married them while in a drunken stupor in las vegas.

@pauljones: I was driving down the highway the other day and saw someone in a chevy silverado, with the tailgate down (even though this doesn't help fuel economy) with what i'd swear was a polished and waxed truck bed. Tell me, what is the point in that? My uncle owns a construction company and has a fleet of F-3 and

I parked (in my '97 Range Rover) behind a smart fortwo the other day in Hoboken. When I got out, I nearly died laughing I couldn't believe it: the center of my front bumper was in line with the rear "smart" badge. I could have completely destroyed the back end of the car by just bumping it, like most urban drivers

The opening shot of the car going in circles behind the guy talking is a dead ringer for a shot from Top Gear with Jeremy describing the Audi R8...

@Van Sarockin, rogue trebuchet: I recently replaced the intake plenum foam on my Landy. It's a three dollar part that sits under the intake grille, under the wipers, between the windshield and the hood. To get at it I had to:

@sos10: I sure hope so. We rented a Garmin unit for our rental car when the family made a trip to Arizona two weeks ago. it was AWFUL... it couldn't figure out where we were half the time, and any time we made a detour (read: pulled in to get gas or stop for food) along a pre-determined route it would get seriously
