I need to make it explicitly clear that my previous comment constitutes the single biggest shitpost I’ve ever written as part of the kinja commentariat. While sad, I’d completely understand if it’s grounds for me getting re-grayed. I am deeply remorseful for my actions, and can assure you that that is not in my heart.
Yes. Yes you are.
In protest of this I will start slicing by loaf bread like a bagel.
Did you really just reference a study by a company that sells tracking systems to support your argument? Come on...
how many violent uprisings have you experienced?
Each state still got a say in your crazy scenario. Each state voted for someone. Each state got their allotted electoral votes. Candidate with most electoral votes wins. That’s the system we have and will have for a very, very long time. Enjoy your weekend being mad about the electoral college!
Wow, what a dumb comment. Am I supposed to believe you city folk have everyone’s best interests in mind? You know, other than your own?
If someone wins exactly 50.1% of the vote in the 12 largest states but doesn’t get a single vote in the other 39 (counting DC,) according to the EC, they win and become president.
They aren’t, but people in California and New York shouldn’t be able to impose their will on the whole country, just because their thought bubble is bigger. The electoral college and senate keeps one ideology from taking over, it’s a genius idea, and the people who are calling for it’s elimination fail to see that one…
Yes, it should. The system was specifically designed to prevent the tyranny of big states over small states. Looks to be working just fine.
Go back to being mediocre? Ohio wishes it was mediocre.
Waaaah, I can’t win with the current rules, so let’s change it so I can...
How about developing a strategy to win in rural areas instead of trying to change the rules...
A sand rail.
Agreed, those wheels are hideous.
“...cut power to the motor in the trim system that was driving the nose down, according to the people familiar, part of a checklist that all pilots are required to memorize.”
With blind spot systems so prevalent now, how far away is technology that can tell when you’re getting passed on the right, and it tells the driver to move over? Preferably, it would have a loud, obnoxious sound until the lane change occurs. I’d celebrate that and eagerly accept it as standard equipment.
Fixed that one for you. Your one vote won’t make a difference. Just ignore it completely. If you are inclined to vote then wait until your day comes and look at the candidates and pick one and then go vote for them. Everything else is mudslinging and will do nothing but make you upset.
Honestly, I’m not even sure why we need to bother with the Presidential stuff after, say, April of next year. Look, you’re pretty much going to be in one of three camps - you think Trump is an utter fucking moron and the worst thing to happen to American in a half-century; you think Trump is anointed by God and can do…
