Because there’s a vast ocean of indie game releases these days with wildly creative visual styles. So straight up aping another game screams to me that they lack imagination. Nobody is saying they can’t do this, just that they probably shouldn’t.

I think there is a difference from copying art styles and using it as inspiration and building from it. Mysplaced looks like it didn’t bring anything new to the table. Like how movie production companies make movies with public domain stories (Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, etc) to ride off the success of Disney.…

I’ve found that political discussions over the internet don’t really go anywhere. Nobody is willing to concede on any point and neutrality is viewed as a sin. If you just want to get angry and insult people, though, it works out pretty well.

The summer when Overwatch originally released was an absolutely amazing time in games. Really felt like the last time everyone had come together to get into a multiplayer game. Doubt they can capture that again with a sequel.

Totally agree. I have been gaming for 40+ years and always thought games like OW is out of my league, but I had so much fun for the better part of two years with the game on-and-off.

There’s only so many ways they can profit off the parasocial lifeblood of the community.
