I feel like this isn’t nearly as much as a deathnell ad it seems. Like nobody bought it for the name “Disco Elysium” they bought it because it was fuckiNg GOOD. I doubt they will but if those creators learned how to handle the money aspect themselves they probably wouldn't get fucked as hard this time around but I

Glad it’s back... sorta. Would say it’s a solid 7/10. I want to love it but the combat is so often “instant death” or “nobody can touch you” and while i do think the world is really interesting, sometimes their flavor text is so over the top it reads like paraody than real corporate dystopia. That and I just find some

AlL the more tragic considering the world is fucking BEGGING for a roguelike base building game to be  uilt off of it. Like think for ainute how well that fits the roguelike formula. Go in, try to find artifacts, and send them back up for future runs. If you die, you don't keep all the relics but another character can

“Nobody plays the new heroes, so they’ll be fine while the whales pay for shit and the game just fizzles while everyone does the same thing over and over instead of doing something new!”

For what reasons do people work at gamestop for a whole decade? Especially when theres a nearby mcdonalds with better pay?

My guess is the hair Is supposed to be really off since he’s trying to hide his identity, but who knows.

At this point, if we’re doing everything we can to avoid leveling, why don’t we just remove levels?

Unless 0.01% fits your description of “an awful lot” youre vastly overstating how weird Japan is. It only seems crazy because we o ly ever here the crazy stuff. By and large its a very conservative culture with some fringe elements that are very prominent in specific areas and circumstances. Theyre population issues

Wont watch her stuff, still think the people that do are huge weenies, bit she always seems cool. Gotta respect someone that well adjusted and composed on the internet.

Sometimes I’ll agree with you but she IS a famous woman in the gaming space. Not exactly out of left field.

Didn’t know Pareto efficiency existed until this comment and its pretty useful as a term. I’m gonna remember that shit so thanks for that!

Im like 90% sure its the internet and constant access to stressors, and not a worsening reality.

Except we just got a bill mega streamlining renewable neergy creation in the US and the move away from fossil fuels as well as big subsidies towards carbon capture, to lessen whats already there.

This is... very well and maturely written. Not overly mean but still direct in criticism, and definitely... I want to say evocative? Like Just in how you describe I feel like I grasp exactly what the tone of the game is like.

DEFINITELY overdone, but at the same time still salvageable imo? Like, the concept of the guns talking to you I think is actually great. I think a lot of games could benefit from like, your jrpg party talking to each other to flesh them out and get you invested, its more just in the execution.

I don’t get the vibe that youre thinking about it very hard anyway,

I wonder if it has to do partially with player counts at the top levels.  I know overwatch top 500 players would sometimes end up with grandmaster or even master ranks just because the numbers thin out so heavily up there.  May be worth increasing how many people are conisdered “apex predators” and the other top ranks

To be honest, I’ve been working during that myself. If it means anything, I found it equally as cringe inducing then.

Youre REALLY stuck on the idea of context my man and I appreciate that you feel that way but I ASSURE you for most of the people that hate it the context does not make it remotely better.

Do you really believe there is a single person in your life that would react to that situation with quippy surprise and not instead abject, gut wrenching horror? Because if you really wanna play the “this is how they’d respond!” angle, abject terror would be much more in line.  Nobody acts like this in real life.
