I’m inclined to disagree still. A lot of the instances you talk about feel much more along the lines of the game telling you that but never, or rarely (or often incosistently) SHOWING it to you.

Just putting it out there, if you are a whale who contributed more than a few bucks to that 24 mil, I very personally do not respect you, and you should considr spending money on things that actually enrich you, at least like a full experience video game, instead of a practice that actively drags the entire industry…

I’m usually one to shill cult classics for others, but for whatever reason I never got the hype around DD... played it a long ass time ago now, but I just don’t remember anything really stand out about it, other than a couple neat story beats towards the end.  Remember it feeling lacking in the “coherent world” aspect…

I mean, even so by playing the game at all youre still encouraging them to make more. And games built around this model will ALWAYS be worse.  Just play something else. A free to play could very well be “pretty good for free” but its always going to be inherently at least a little bit shittier than a pay once game.
