Wow.  That’s awesome!  I think you just took the concept to a whole new level!

To be fair, humanity has had it coming for a good, long, while.

Aww, thanks! I was exagerating a bit. I have friends, but they’re not the TT game playing type of folks. So basically I need better friends! 😂

Andor and Rouge One are the only post-og-trilogy SW I like.

I’m so done with this show. I’ll stick to Star Trek, thanks. At least Lower Decks and Strange New Worlds are keeping the social commentary spirit of Trek alive.

As someone who tried to like Orville and found it lacking, this sounds interesting.

Maybe in a few years with AI we’ll be able to create our own Christopher Reeves Superman sequels that ignore 3 and 4.

I think it’s supposed to be aspirational. Like Captain America.

From GPT-4:

I’m hoping it is the latter. OpenAI is overseen by a non-profit board. So that mollifies my concerns somewhat over for-profit corporations having exclusive control.  Also, GPT-4 is superior to Bing chat.

That would be hilarious!

Sam Altman has said the the era of big datasets is already over and the next advances in AI will be developed from its interaction with users. If that is true it may be a bit late for Reddit to make that coin.

First, I would like to apologize for my earlier dismissive response, “look it up.” It was immature, and I regret my behavior.

Second, while you do not know my background, I respect your perspective as a Systems Engineer.

Third, AI has already produced significant breakthroughs, such as DeepMind’s AlphaFold, which

I don’t see how that is relevant to the discussion.

I use a tablet for doodling (I wouldn’t ever call what I do ‘art’ per se), I really enjoy it, for whatever that is worth.

I saw it, too.  Fascinating stuff.  And those little soccer bots are adorable as heck.

Well said. I agree completely. I don’t think your callous because you recognize the reality and inevitably of AI. I hope a regulatory framework is put in place to ensure that AI is beneficial to most people and is a tool and not a worker replacement.

Thanks for the thoughtful response! I agree, particularly about profit-motive ruining what could otherwise be an interesting tool artists can use.

Emergent Properties.  Look it up.
