If you think that, DACA would never have been enacted in the first place.

Don’t vote for them in the 2018 midterms. I’m sure that will make everything better.

Indeed. The Republicans love the Democrats circular firing squad.

Democrats could have shut down the government until the 2018 midterms and paid for it. Remember while a majority of Americans back DACA, a majority don’t think it is worth shutting down the government over it.

Is it? Reboundstudent actually makes a valid point that it is the Republican President that repealed DACA and the Republican congress that has failed to pass legislation. I would add that it was a Democratic President that enacted DACA. And the only reason it was an Executive Order rather than legislation was because

As long as that anger gets you to the polls in November.

The Republicans have the advantage of being largely in lock-step over a lot of their policies. They are homogeneous mostly old, white men. Democrats are diverse with a variety of view points. Which makes it really difficult to get a consensus on anything.

Democrats have caved for decades. It is what they do. They’re still better than the “burn-it-all-down-with-fire” team.

I agree with you completely. Revenge of the circular firing squad.

They were damned either way.

I think it is fair to say that they knew that they were getting played. They wanted political cover for not shutting down the government. They were damned either way.

Kind of missed the point their sport: Third party candidates have not won an election in modern times. It is not a viable path if you want to stop Trump. If you vote Republican or stay home then you are losing in the sense that they will dismantle the social safety net and destroy the middle class.

Nice ad hominem. Get back to me when you have an actual argument.

But are they? The Republicans seem fine with domestic abuse for the most part.

Well, you can always vote Republican. Or third party. Either way, enjoy losing.

Unless you want less evil.

Reboundstudent said it far better than I could. I would just add that you are making the mistake of thinking the Democrats can succeed by using the same playbook the Republicans used during the Obama administration. The problem is that the voting constituencies are completely different. There is a rather blatant

Nah. Is it going to be perfect? No. But it can be waaaaay better than it is now.

It is more complicated than that. The country has drifted rightward over the last few decades. Today’s Democrats are 1950s Republicans.
