I suspect that it is a misguided desire to not promote the image but still be able to stand on their soapbox and say that it is not art.

I find that there is a skill to writing a prompt to get a good result. Often I have to rephrase my request to get the output I’m looking for. I can see this as being a skill. Until AI learns to read minds anyways :P
