Never tried from frozen but I used to do it the way you described. Eventually I tried a dry brine in the fridge on a wire rack. Then straight from the fridge to a cast iron pan or on the grill. If doing the pan I was butter basting. It really gives the best crust ever without overcooking the interior. I can’t go back…

I’ve not grilled vegetables in foil packs before. Do you still get the same grilled flavor from the fire? I feel like the foil would prevent that. Also the basket is re-useable so...better for the environment? 

Came here to say this and I completely agree. Best ranch dressing at fast food or regular restaurant. I wish I knew the secret. I think it’s partly the MSG but can’t figure out exactly what it is. I’ve tried some copy-cat homemade recipes but they don’t come very close.

I enjoyed Friday the 13th being released. I had been wanting to try it out. Played it a few times so far and not too bad.

Someone up-thread said they didn’t like Church’s but other than that I haven’t seen them mentioned. The locations (DFW) I’ve been to have always been good. Preferable to KFC but not quite as good as Popeyes.

I’m with you. One thing I’ve started doing is throwing extra chicken on when I cook. Next day, that chicken plus some leftover rice, can of black beans, quick chop of some veggies and you got a burrito bowl.

I’m with you on everything but the KFC. Not sure where you live but I would go with Popeye’s or Church’s over the Colonel Sanders. I would say making your own fried chicken is great but it’s so messy. Delicious but so so messy.

That was one of the best party games ever that wasn’t on a Nintendo system.

Does anyone else add a few tablespoons of the buttermilk to the flour/cornstarch mix? The dry ingredients soak in some of the wet and you get these extra “nuggets” that lead to a thicker crust.
