People protest too much on this point. Their Kardashian articles still get plenty of engagement even as many articles here get little to none. The Kardashians are a clan people love to have opinions about even while they pretend they don’t care a whit.

“Like if a talented, rich white woman married this mega rich guy would anyone bat an eye”

I’ll always think Georgina Chapman was a gold digger. She married a guy who smelled like literal shit, and she claimed to not know who Weinstein was when she met him. I mean c’mon.

I don’t think so. When a beautiful woman marries a really rich dude, she’s always a gold digger, no matter what her race or ethnicity. It’s established fact that beautiful women never marry for love, only for money.

A prime example: Elin Nordgren (Tiger Wood’s ex wife, who was called a gold digger for leaving him after

Not to mention that she was famous and independently wealthy when they met. She was not even close to being a billionaire, but still.

He was in the midst of a relationship with original supermodel Linda Evangelista that did not end well but produced a son, just around the time he met Salma.

Definitely Craig-ish.

I think it’s definitely a case of poor wording on her part. I’ve seen a few interviews with her and I don’t think she’s trying to elicit sympathy for white male billionaires, just defend that he’s a good person who lover her and doesn’t just want a trophy wife.

Same thought - bad word choice, but her sentiment was not truly trying to say discrimination, but rather assumptions/pre-judgements.

It’s also not even like he’s ugly. He’s just not a heartthrob actor. I remember when they first got married everyone freaked out. It was dumb.

This! I think there’s something sexy about Pinault as well. He looks like Daniel Craig’s less hot, French brother. He also looks like the type of man who is extremely confident and comfortable with himself and I find that super hot.

I wonder if this was just a case of poor wording on her part. I just looked up her wikipedia bio, and it says she is dyslexic-combine that with the fact that she speaks at least two languages and probably three if she’s married to a frenchman, and it reads more like “we’re constantly having to defend against stereotype

Thanks for explaining this. I try not to rely on Jezebel for actual news, but rather its takes on the news and also the opportunity to engage in the comments section. But this interpretation of what happened is the latest example of the site really misconstruing reality in order to generate rage clicks. It’s really

He’s French, he’s been around the block, he has a je ne sais quoi, he knows what makes her smile...

I’m sure he’s a nice guy, but saying that rich people face discrimination is like saying that skinny people face discrimination.

I will continue to do the lord’s work: they’re similar ages, it’s not one of the rich-and-old-with-beautiful-and-young situations.
Salma Hayek: 54
François-Henri Pinault: 58

In fact if you listen the podcast critiqued here you would learn that when Shepard met the couple some seven years ago he found Pinnault to be lovely inside and out.

Curious whether anyone actually listened to the podcast?

She’s 4 years younger than him.

That’s really not what Dax said. Megan clearly did not listen to the podcast and is just parroting second hand clickbait misreporting. Dax flat out fanboyed over Francois’ kindness and charisma. He said he initially made a stupid assumption, but was amazed when he actually met him and totally got what Salma saw in
