Agreed! There was actually quite a lot of stuff I liked about Watchmen: The Movie. And in retrospect, it could have been a HELL of a lot worse.

I’m with ya. I love just about everything Desplat’s ever done (and lately, I probably listen to him more than Giacchino), but Michael’s been the heir apparent to Star Wars for a long time. Even John Williams himself has made some mild comments in that regard.
