A piece of sheet-metal and a $30 speedometer from AutoZone, then the rest is basically just ripping out all the fancy electrical doo-dads that aren’t actually required to make the car run, and you’ve got a pretty reliable car.  I’m assuming the trans is a 4l60E, which is a fairly competent auto, and the engine

And the very first reply says “[CCM is] not hard or expensive to fix.” I’m not sure who I trust, but it’s GM, so I know it can’t be that difficult.

Armchair Jalops expect a fully operational vehicle without making any efforts for pennies. Those of us who aren’t afraid to turn wrenches see opportunity.

put a junk yard TR6060 with a new clutch in it.

CP <<=====|==C==>> NP

Thats an old adage, but just isn’t true. I have had 2x of these cars, and parts have been cheap and redily avaliable, something you cant say for say about other 30 y/o cars. Nothing is at the “parts counter” besides common tune up stuff, so most things are ordered online. Since its just a SBC motor, parts cross over

CP if you you want to make it perfect and put it back on the road.  You can find much nicer for not much more money.  NP if you want a track/autoX car or ratty toy.

+NP - I had a 1991 with an L98 and a 6-Speed and while the Corvette Tax is real, that engine is old-school awesome. The LT-1 was a little too freakishly engineered for my taste.

That’s still $6k for a not-so-bad sports car.

Have you ever driven a C4 with an L98? It’s the fastest ‘Vette built to date other than C2 L88 cars, and it handles infinitely better. Is the engine weak compared to the 455HP monster in the C7? Sure, but it’s downright scary compared to most muscle car engines, and sports cars of that era couldn’t touch it without

So basically you are telling me it is a normal C4 found in an estate sale. NP even with the auto-tragic.

Love the Monday morning QBs on the front page. This is one of the narrowest and tightest tracks. He had a split second to react in a tight turn. He was assuming the GT would be racing to the line. The last thing he is expecting is the GT to die mid corner. And you can even hear in replay the gt just die

It doesn’t work like that. The GT accelerated out of the corner then stopped pulling. There was nothing for the Corvette driver to do.

Bad analogy is bad. A GT car is slower than a DPi. One GTLM was leading another car from the same class until it lost power with a car close behind and expecting acceleration.

Big V8s are the eeeasiest cars to learn stick on. That low end torque makes it very easy to pull away without needing too much finesse

“But no, that’s asking too much of the intellectually challenged.”

I’m sure you never use a car to travel or fly on a commercial airliner. Those are destructive to the environment and nature is not a carnival ride or resort.

Disagree. Who are you to say what the real experience is for anyone.  I happen to enjoy the way the whole package meshes together... I’ve played a bunch of games with a great combat system in a terribly ugly, boring world that didn’t captivate me in the least.

I don’t disagree that accessibility is a great thing to have in games. I just don’t believe that developers should be lampooned for creating a specific, crafted, difficult experience, if they’re not interested in capturing a wide audience. Not every game has to appeal to everyone.
