No. Manuals are easy in traffic. I drive a Corvette in Atlanta, a city consistently rated as having some of the worse traffic in the world and routinely the worst in the US, every single day with a 6 speed.

Statistically not for long. More new cars in the UK have an automatic than a manual. The automatic is easier to drive, gets better economy, and is in many cases cheaper.
