Fisker Karma. Beautiful, terrible build quality, side exit 4 cylinder ecotec, small interior. They’re super rare, but can also be had super cheap because the random ones that made it into the public are falling apart.

I think withe Prowler style was the substance, and I’m OK with that

Pontiac fixed it towards the end, but the Fiero is possibly Pontiac at its peak style over substance, and I sort of hope the slideshow in a couple days is just 10 Pontiacs.

The Prowler.  Still glad they made it, but feels like it could have been so much more

Turns out marking up cars way above MSRP, with high payments might not have been a good long-term strategy.

....or rich enough.

i hope airport security told the gate agent to get fucked; how do you get detained for a “frowned upon”

But if you’re just rich enough to be able to get a $500k loan, then making $50k for a day’s worth of effort looks pretty attractive.

You’re describing basically all car dealerships.

I flipped a Rolls Royce once.

Now ban the dealers.

You’re not the first person I’ve heard say that. I have driven several and I disagree, but you aren’t the only one.

When Jalopnik was Jalopnik.

I never understand these responses, we read the site; we’d like to see different content. He didn’t buy something from this article, you twit. Also, you don’t understand how affiliate marketing works. Guess what jalopnik gets with a zillion clicks, and zero conversions.

I know. And, I get it. But as someone who has volunteered with alpine and backcountry Search and Rescue for years, we don’t go looking for people based on moral considerations. At the end of the day, these are lost people and we go looking for them. Period.

It’s even more hilarious if you know about the *real* Adam Smith (go and listen to Freakonomics’ 3-episode series on him)

There isn’t one.

Regardless of what your actual opinion is about dealerships... what is the legal argument that justifies mandating their existence? And why wouldn’t the same “reasoning” apply to, say, Apple Stores? Why can Apple sell direct to the public, but not GM?

In their defense, if it’s a CrossTrek, 4 cylinder Outback or Forester, they are possibly already driving as fast as they can.
