This is an anecdote.  It does not represent all BMWs.  I would imagine similar anecdotes can be found for nearly all cars.  But I understand that your opinion is that BMWs are wildly less reliable.  OK.  So what if Toyota takes their engineering prowess and improves off of BMW’s basic design?

I suppose that’s fair to say.  Maybe it would be interesting if we knew more about Toyota’s involvement in the engine’s design process?  For instance, did they run some of the testing and actually get seats at the table?

Would you be this upset if they never talked about the collaboration and simply put the BMW engine in the Supra and made sure to carefully remove all BMW logos and stickers?  What is it about the sharing of engineering that has you so upset?  I mean, people put LSs in everything nowadays, and frankly it’s because the

I have the 5.3 in my Suburban and wish I could turn off cylinder deactivation.  It just lugs the engine and is generally useless.  If you have a big truck, just get on board that the MPG will suck.  Oh, and I average 14 mpg in basic driving over the last 6 years....

Exactly my point...no one is actually doing this here yet.  I would absolutely pay Chevy some money to let me have more fun in my Volt...

I want someone to offer an EV that supports modifications.  Like I can buy a less expensive model and when I feel like upgrading things, I can buy more battery pack or a larger motor...things like that.  So far, no one is supporting the enthusiast.  Sure, Tesla is making very fast cars, but they are just like

Does anyone one know the real answer to this question:  If the dealership has something unique like this and says it’s worth $500k, are they able to somehow borrow more money by using this inflated asset as collateral, or is that seen as an obvious scam and therefore not allowed by GAAP?  I am not an accountant and

When will MB stop fitting black wheels with machined lips. All I can think of is “TUNER”.

You asked the question up above...why isn’t this the Celica and the other is the Celica Supra? C’mon.

I love the satisfaction of negotiating a car purchase and *then* telling the finance person that you’ve already got a loan lined up and all you need them to do is process the sale paperwork....

Yes.  We all get ongoing training on the latest firefighting techniques.

^^^The tunnel situation is the most alarming to me. There’s the fire potential, but it’s also such a small tunnel, there’s really no good way to even get in there and do anything about a fire/accident/emergency.

It’s a chemical fire, not an electrical fire, unfortunately.  And yes, we have dry chem extinguishers.

Nice humblebrags there...

Like a ship’s wheel sticking out of a pirate’s pants, it’s driving me nuts.

GodDAMN that car is getting uglier by the day.  My eyes!!!

These gauges ALONE make me want a Miata (there are numerous other reasons as well...)

Meh.  Still looks like poop.

These are gonna sell like hotcakes right now.  With the amount of rich guys rolling around in $75k modified Jeeps...there’s definitely a market for this.

I really really like it, but would only pay $7500 if it was minty, Turbo, and row-your-own.
