Gotcha - many thanks.
Gotcha - many thanks.
This is also true. Many are $2-3/hr, which is more than gas, since the Volt needs like 3+ hours from flat, so like $6-9 to go 40 miles (1 gallon of gas).
But they don’t have one to go the other way. They need Supercharger to CHAdeMO and Supercharger to J1772.
The charging station doesn’t set the limit - the vehicle does. My Volt has an internal charger that is limited to 3.3 kWh. Hence, even if I plug into a charging station that can deliver 6.6 kWh, I’m never going to get it. That said, I’m fairly certain an adapter is all that’s needed - see the video I linked where…
Those rates are set by the station owners - you know that right? I know many around me that are completely FREE to encourage retail shopping.
Maybe Tesla should START by making an adapter that goes from Supercharger to SAE J1772 or CHAdeMO. This is something they have staunchly refused to make...and it makes plugging in anything but a Tesla into a Supercharger station impossible. Now, this dude made one, but I’m talking about something legit, not this…
Comparison of “would you be seen in it” out of 100:
I saw one of these about a month ago and legit thought it was an LFA. This and the IS are the only Lexi that elicit any sort of desire from me. Sexy.
Why don’t they use a Nissan(-based) engine like in the road cars? Is Nissan just not interested in playing in F1?
Looks like this one:
Ha! Except in the case of Honda they have literally an entire company of engineers and money at their disposal. The reasons for their failure have got to be something very bizarre. Others have figured out how to build these motors....
Ha! I know right? I thought they would auto-shorten. Oh well. F-it.
I appreciate you pointing all that out - I wasn’t aware. Nevertheless, these seem like fairly straightforward engineering challenges. I’m not saying they are “easy”, just that with the prowess, access to technology, and funding of a team like Honda, it seems like they should be able to get this done.
How about a BMW 850CSi *AND* a Testarossa:
In an era where we can basically print engines, how is it possible that Honda (of all companies) can’t seem to make a powerful, reliable engine? I’m mystified by this. I realize that things like “design” and “ergonomics” are subjective, and as a result, street cars sometimes don’t sell well. But an engine is an…
Maybe, just maybe, they should build a more powerful BRZ and see how the sales go. I’d imagine more than a few weekend warriors would be interested.
Did you know that in France, you are to pull all the way out into the intersection and actually make the left as if there is an imaginary cone/pole in the middle? The oncoming car actually goes *around* the left side of your car! Drivers are close enough to reach out and hold hands while they make this maneuver. I…
It would be a CP at $1500.
What a shame. The E31 was timeless and perfect. This is NOT that.
But then you look at the C7 and realize it’s wise to wait.
