There is some Weird, Ugly Shit happening all over the sides of that van. Are they trying to trick people into not seeing how obese these are? It’s not working. It’s like fat people wearing pleats. I’m still fat.
Must have Range Extending engine to be useful at all to campers and people who actually like spending time off-grid.
Are they also bringing back wood paneling? Perhaps artisanal oak harvested in Michigan and processed by local hipsters using bicycle-powered beard trimmers?
For some of these funky parts, wouldn’t it be just as easy to make one 3D printed piece and then cast them like you would with a regular aluminum part? It seems like there is still a place for mass-production. One-off 3D prints like this will be extremely expensive for a long time. I mean, look at printing a…
Had a 1999 CR-V for 11 years. Brought both my kids home from the hospital in it. Went on many road trips and camping trips. Worked amazingly and without complaint. Sold it with 180k on the clock for $3300. The best part about it was the size...it was part of the Honda recipe where it was small on the outside but…
This whole thing is why people buy Porsches in the first place. They are far more durable and resilient than all the other high-performance cars around.
Same. Except my timeline went from 1998 to 2004 and the car started as free and went out the door for $5600. After well over $10k in shit.
I honestly thought it was going to explode at any moment. So high strung. But also boneriffic.
This model TL is without question one of the most harmonious, fully-realized designs in recent history. Everything is of a part, and it’s nearly timeless. This car will still look good at 20.
I literally made this same argument to one of my best friends a few years back. He bought one, loved it, and would’ve kept it if not for his office giving him a company truck instead. Then later they took that away and now he drives a Cooper S (I think he still misses the TL)
I literally had no idea that motor wasn’t OHV until this very moment. Kudos.
What about when everyone ELSE has autonomous cars and you can get a used E34 M5 and drive backwards on the roads, balls-to-the-wall and all the autonomous cars just merge out of your way like they do in Ronin??
A Guards Red SC from my year of birth? Oh yes.
Will this get stuck on driveways too?
True - I frequently park next to people that drive Panamera Hybrids.
This is significantly roomier than a Volt. The market is for people who want the luxury of the CT6 but might also like the frugality of ownership. My Volt costs me like $50 a month to operate.
Once you own something like a Volt and you see how awesome it can be to get almost all your driving done with just a little bit of battery capacity, all of this makes sense. And when you need to drive more, the engine is there to keep you going. Everyone says the Tesla is so much better and so much more pure, but…
Holy shit - yes please.
