I see someone in a nearly pristine beige Chevette almost every morning on my way to the train. Probably a one-owner car just like you describe. Hard to imagine keeping a car THAT bad, for THAT long.

Coming from someone who has had both an SR20DET-equipped S13 240SX, followed by an E36 325is, I can confirm that this is not right. The turbo-4 is a great motor, with more power than the stock I-6, but the I-6 is just a sweeter song and is what belongs in the car. This needs an M motor swap and a real diff to be

Yep. The clue was the "B&O" logo. Perhaps a subwoofer? Might as well pump out mind-numbing bass in this asshole-wagon.

I think you're on to something. Old Government probably just said "fuck it - if they won't pay to improve the system, let's just order the trains we want and they'll have to fix it afterward." Your move, New Government...

Umm...yes...the one up top has two turbos... ;-)

Taxis are MUCH more expensive for anything more than a few miles. If you need to go several miles, you need a car...and this also gives you a chance to alter your route, pick up other people, etc.

Yes. And depending on locale. I'm currently spending $15/mo for the privilege, and then another $11-16/hour to use a car. Comes with gas/parking/insurance/etc. Love it.

This is the price you pay for Hard Parking. Might as well leave the Lambo at home next time and have the limo pick up/drop off. I'm not sad for this person.

This is awesome!! I use Zipcar to get to job sites during the day and therefore allow me to commute via the train in Chicago, and this would be super handy. Will be interesting to see how this pans out...

Yep - I got that. I misunderstood originally in thinking that the GX was the Big Mama of the Lexus lineup. Forgot about the LX (which isn't surprising, really, as they are very similar). You're right about the size/price comparison - GX *is* closer to Tahoe in size.

Ah. Well there you go. Shows what I know. None of the naming conventions make sense any more, and I can't stand Lexus design, so I haven't been paying close enough attention. Oh well. Thanks for the reply!

?? The GX is Lexus' biggest SUV, no? I'm simply suggesting that for people using all three rows, Lexus doesn't go big enough to compete. The GX competes with the Tahoe/Yukon, but doesn't have the room in back to really haul people and gear. Also, I feel like that space behind the rear seat is so small, it's

Is this a joke? This does not count as 3rd row seating. There is literally not enough room for a briefcase back there. So dumb. Hence my Suburban.

I think Fisker has a solid chance. Wanxiang is a huge company, and they also bought A123 that was the battery maker for Fisker. Now it's all in one house. I think the smartest thing they could do, however, is license Supercharger technology from Tesla so they can tap into that network. Tesla makes money, and

Ja. I konkur.

?? Iron is an element on the periodic table. It is not an alloy. It is one of the chief ingredients in the alloy (steel) we are discussing, however. Also, both can be cast or forged. Casting happens first, followed by forging (at additional cost).

Somebody was stoned during high school Chemistry class...amirite?

To me, it was no different than a normal, modern automatic once I got it moving on the open road. Shifts were smooth, but that's typical of most of the new crop of transmissions. Only noticeable differences were at throttle tip-in while driving around town. Perhaps, as suggested above, this was either a

No kidding...that could be the culprit. Either way, it was bad enough to make me walk away with no desire of owning the car or driving it again in Chicago traffic.

So you're saying it's lag related then? I guess I would need to drive a manual A3 with the same engine to compare. I hated it. Was like driving for the first time. Either too much gas or not enough...must have looked like an idiot.
