Right man, but this guy DIDN’T KNOW that he was ACTUALLY in a death machine.

I’m not in ANY WAY saying “moar hugs”. I’m not intending to imply it, I’m not attempting to say this idea should’ve been coddled. Nothing like that. The way this entire thing was executed is completely idiotic. My POINT is... we as a community need to understand HOW to better deliver that message. You calling someone

Ugh... tell me about it lol.

That’s like a YEARS supply of gasoline!

You have some valid points, but I think if you intend to make that argument then you may as well say fuck his family (his significant other at least) for choosing to be with him no?

I guess my point would be... if we’re going to call this guy an idiot (and maybe I don’t disagree) how far down the line do we go? Is his

Manny I got a bunch of these comments, but in my eyes... I’m trying to look at this as a chicken or egg type scenario. Were those GTFO comments CAUSED because he had been shunned by his community, or did his community shun him because of those comments.

If you’re a car person and you come up with what you think is an

Crowbar I know man... we get it on our boards too. I’m just saying, sometimes people need to be taught how to use their resources.

They end up doing that because they’ve been led to believe that these are the things that this culture finds desirable. If you’re given an opportunity to intervene and help guide their creativity... we all end up with less ruined Subarus.

That is a fair point... I would say my main point lies in a chicken or egg conundrum. (also I agree with your three comment thread here... WHOLEheartedly... especially on the politics) What I would like to get across is... did he reject those comments BECAUSE he’s an idiot, or were people not kind to him when he

Yeah I saw. I’m not implying I have answers... I’m adding food for thought.

Also agree. However... ignoring “haters” is a defense mechanism. Ignoring people trying to help you is stupid. But you need to be able to effectively deliver your message.

I mean lets not get micro... the physics of the whole thing are the problem. It also sounds like he lost control. There are lots of problems.

I think your point is also my point. I’m not insinuating that people DIDN’T try and reach out... my question is about HOW id people try and reach out. I of course know that I’m wrong... but I just believe that this dude at some point was like... “I’m going to do this, and everyone will think it’s rad” and then when

Thank you, and also my mom IS a nice lady!

Oh of course... but I think there are obvious lessons to take away from tragedy as well as some more nuanced lessons that we can all pause and reflect on.

100% Agreed... my question is did his comments CAUSE people to walk away and shun, or did the shunning CAUSE his comments.

I mean EVERYTHING is stupid...
I have to assume that this persons idea was to make a stripped out lightweight civic platformed racer. That isn’t stupid in and of itself... the way it was implemented wasn’t ideal though.

My incling is that it was less that he didn’t want to hear the negative comments and more that all he was getting were negative comments rather than the type of CORRECTIVE positive comments. If your kid does something completely idiotic and you just berate them for it... have fun for the next 20 years of your life.

I suspect he was trying to embrace the hate... it really screams of this though (your post is on point I mean).

I think that’s a fair assessment. It just sucks to see people die from things that are well intentioned but so completley idiotic it’s hard to believe no one stopped this guy.
